Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited announced a partnership with US-based chipmaker NVIDIA to enhance artificial intelligence in India. The collaboration aims to advance India's artificial intelligence and semiconductor chip objectives. In addition, the collaboration will aid in the development of an indigenous foundation big language model trained on the nation's varied languages and optimized for generative Al applications.

NVIDIA will supply Jio with end-to-end AI supercomputer technologies such as CPU, GPU, networking, and AI operating systems and frameworks for constructing the most powerful AI models, according to the alliance. Jio will oversee consumer engagement and access, as well as administer and maintain the AI cloud infrastructure. According to details, the AI infrastructure will be hosted by data centers with a capacity of 2,000 MW.

“We are delighted to partner with Reliance to build state-of-the-art Al supercomputers in India," NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang said.

"India has scale, data, and talent. With the most advanced Al computing infrastructure, Reliance can build its own large language models that power generative Al applications made in India, for the people of India," he added.

The most recent commercial development reinforces Reliance's aim of providing a huge, complete digital, cloud, and networking platform for both consumers and business customers.

Commenting on the partnership, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director said, "As India advances from a country of data proliferation to creating technology infrastructure for widespread and accelerated growth, computing, and technology super centers like the one we envisage with NVIDIA will provide the catalytic growth just like Jio did to our nation's digital march."

He added, “I am delighted with the partnership with NVIDIA and looking forward to a purposeful journey together."
