Digital Transformation in Public Healthcare

Agenda

Public healthcare system is of utmost significance in India owing to its capability of providing affordable healthcare services. However, it is lagging behind in terms of technology adoption which is restricting the enhancement of its efficiency and quality of service. The technology laggardness is also evident in the public medical education sphere. For a country renowned for its information technology excellence, there is a lot that can be done to transform the public healthcare and medical education landscape.

Digital transformation initiatives like implementation of ICT (information and Communication Technology) systems such as EMR/EHR and Telemedicine have the potential to improve the efficiency of the service provider as well as enable financial savings for the patients, especially in rural areas. When applied to medical education, it can make high quality education accessible even in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Thus, medical colleges and district hospitals can bring about revolutionary change in their operations by embracing digital transformation.

As the government undertakes measures to boost the healthcare infrastructure both for services and education, a parallel effort is required from the industry to give a fillip to the evolution. In this webinar, we will try to understand how we can achieve the goal of digital transformation of public healthcare ecosystem.
