The US tech giant added that Amazon's cloud computing division, AWS, will invest $17 billion to expand its data centers in Spain's Aragon region through 2033. The move comes closely following its declaration of this long stretch of a 7.8 billion euro venture to fabricate a cloud centre in Germany, and 1.2 billion euros in France to foster a cloud framework and calculated foundation of its parcel delivery service.

In Aragon, Amazon has three data centers, it plans to invest 2.5 billion euros in 2021. The investment, according to the US company, will result in the creation of approximately 17,500 indirect jobs in Northwest companies.

"This new commitment by AWS spotlights our country's attractiveness as a strategic tech hub in southern Europe,"Spanish Digital Transformation Minister Jose Luis Escriva was quoted by Amazon in the statement.

The top of the regional government, Jorge Azcon, said this will be the biggest venture from an organization in Aragon's set of experiences.

"An investment that positions Aragon as a leading technological hub on a continental and global level," he added in a message on social network X, formerly Twitter.

A trailblazer of e-commerce, Amazon's AWS likewise rules cloud computing with 31% of the market toward the end of 2023, as per Stocklytics. However, rivals Microsoft and Google are making strides, with 24% and 11 percent portion of the overall industry of the cloud business industry, respectively.
