
Sunil Mittal to be reappointed as Bharti Enterprise's chairman

Bharti Enterprises founder and chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal will be re-appointed as the chairman of the company, effective October 1, 2021.
Sunil Bharti Mittal is an Indian billionaire entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder and chairperson of Bharti Enterprises, which has diversified interests in telecom, insurance, real estate, education, malls, hospitality, Agri and food besides other ventures. Bharti Airtel, the group's flagship company is one of the world's largest and India's second-largest telecom company with operations in 18 countries across Asia and Africa with a customer base of over 399 million.
“We are pleased to inform you that subject to the provisions of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 and approval of shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held on Monday, May 17, 2021, has recommended the re-appointment of Sunil Bharti Mittal as the Chairman of the Company for a further term of five years October 01, 2021,” an official statement said.
Mittal was re-appointed as the conglomerate's chairman on October 1, 2016, for a period of five years.
The development comes a day after Bharti Airtel's announcement of its fourth-quarter financial results.
