Ather Energy, a manufacturer of electric bikes, announced a partnership with Google to provide EV users with up-to-date information on the availability of fast charging stations for two-wheelers. According to a statement from the company, the partnership will enable users of electric vehicles equipped with the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), the official Indian EV charging connector standard, to locate 'Ather Grid' fast chargers on Google and receive real-time status updates of the chargers.

When looking up 'EV charger near me' or 'charging stations' on Google Maps, Chargers with LECCS will show up, and any newly installed charger will be included on Google Maps as well, it stated.

Ather Energy stated that their fast-charging network for electric two-wheelers, which is approved for nation-wide use by the Bureau of Indian Standards, is built on the internally developed LECCS.

Last year, the introduction of the new standard was a major step in creating a universal standard by promoting interoperability, which will help increase the use of electric vehicles in the country. Ather Energy reported that there are currently 1,973 fast chargers accessible to the public as of March 30, 2024.

Ather Energy, based in Bangalore, is a manufacturer of electric two-wheelers located in India. Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. At this time, it produces electric scooters named the Ather 450 Apex, Ather 450S, Ather 450X, Ather 450X Pro, and Ather Rizta.
