Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has frequently lauded Google. During his recent evidence in the US vs. Google antitrust lawsuit, Nadella stated that the Google search engine is superior to his company's search engine, Bing. He also stated that he would do whatever to improve the situation. Satya Nadella, the CEO of Insider's parent firm, remarked in an interview with Mathias Dopfner that Google's Bard is a competitive product and that the Sundar Pichai-led business has certain "structural advantages" in the online search arena.

Earlier this year, at the time of launching Bing, Nadella had said that it intends to compete with Google in the search space and had referred to the tech giant as the '800 pound gorilla' in the market. He had also added that with what Microsoft brings to the table, he wants Google to 'come out and dance', as per business standard.

Dopfher recently questioned Nadella about his aspirations to compete with Google and how things were going. In response, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer stated that the company had a 3% share of worldwide search, whereas Google has a 97% stake. In such a setting, even a minor advantage, according to Nadella, is a "exciting moment." He went on to say that Google is a "very strong company" that would only get stronger. He also commended Google's AI chatbot Bard and the still-in-development project Gemini.

He said, "Bard is a very competitive product already. And they have a new model with Gemini. Google has a number of structural advantages right there: they already have the share, they control Android, they control Chrome. I always say that Google makes more money on Windows than all of Microsoft. It keeps us grounded."
