The 'Corteca' end-to-end home connectivity software for broadband devices has been introduced by Finnish telecom equipment manufacturer Nokia, which claims it would assist telecom providers in enhancing customer experiences and generating new revenue. In-home Wi-Fi problems including "complex installation processes, limited interoperability, inconsistent coverage, and dead zones" are addressed, according to Nokia, by its Corteca software. In fact, the equipment manufacturer pointed out that more than 40% of homes report connectivity problems.

 

As per Nokia, Corteca offers improved Wi-Fi performance, devices for the home, customer support resources, and proactive cloud monitoring. According to previous client trials, the Corteca system decreased the average handling time of helpdesk calls by 50% and increased peak-hour Wi-Fi throughput by 70%. The Corteca Cloud marketplace with value-added applications and Corteca Device Software for the company's line of broadband devices for Fiber, fixed wireless access (FWA) gateways, and mesh Wi-Fi beacons make up Nokia Corteca's home connectivity software.

 

“Similar to what the PC market and the mobile phone market did in the past, the CPE market is systematically separating the application from the operating system in order to empower developers, enable operators, and delight users.
