Agarwal, who has been in charge of CDPQ's infrastructure activities in South Asia since March 2017, will also be the Managing Director of the Delhi office and will take an active role in positioning CDPQ as a partner of choice across all asset classes – while representing the organization in the financial and business community, as well as with key stakeholders including the government and regulators.

In addition, Kenneth Juster, former Ambassador of United States to India, was recently hired as a Senior Advisor and will play an influential role as CDPQ continues to evaluate opportunities in India.

"We're thrilled that Saurabh has accepted this new role – and are excited about the prospects we see in India. Since opening our Delhi office in 2016, we have made investments across a number of strategic sectors including renewable energy, roads and technology", said Marc-André Blanchard, EVP, Head of CDPQ Global and Global Head of Sustainability. "We are confident that Saurabh and Ken will continue to build relationships with our partners to enable our growth in the market."

"India is at an inflection point for sustainable growth in the coming decade. I am excited to have the opportunity to play an important role in building CDPQ's presence in India at this time," said Saurabh Agarwal, Managing Director, India. "CDPQ is a leading global investor and I look forward to bringing our constructive capital approach in our investments while addressing critical issues we are facing– most notably the climate change."

With over $7bn of investments in India, CDPQ have made a number of significant transactions with leading partners, including Apraava Energy (previously, CLP India), Azure Power, Maple Highways, Kotak, Mahindra and Piramal Enterprises.
