AI is transforming conventional supply chain practices, assisting Indian sectors in addressing global issues and enabling data-informed choices in manufacturing and distribution. Gadkari stated that AI provides notable benefits to the industry and will also help in minimizing the carbon footprint in associated sectors.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari supported the implementation of AI technology to enhance India's logistics industry. Gadkari also established the goal of lowering logistics expenses by 2% over the coming two years. Addressing the ‘Revolutionizing Supply Chain with Artificial Intelligence' conference hosted by the Indian Institute of Materials Management in the city, Gadkari highlighted AI's potential to enhance logistics, packaging, production, and the prompt delivery of goods and services.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is set to become the third-largest economy globally, and AI will play a crucial role in achieving the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat," Gadkari said.

Gadkari highlighted the significance of selecting the appropriate technology, its proper use, and ensuring that its advantages extend to all segments of society. He highlighted that the youth of India will be crucial in facilitating this change. "The industry must focus on developing its distribution systems, prioritizing timely delivery, effective packaging, and logistics capacity," Gadkari said. He stressed that these areas must be tackled promptly to maintain global competitiveness.
