Infosys, a leading technology firm, agreed to establish a worldwide technology hub for Swedish electric car brand, Polestar, at its Bengaluru development center. The second biggest Indian IT service company will also establish a foundation for Polestar's advancement of in-car entertainment, software, and electrical / electronics engineering, user experience, and cloud-based digital services.

In a statement to BSE, Infosys mentioned that it will utilize its recent acquisition in-tech for research and development to enhance the collaboration. In April of this year, the IT field obtained in-tech, a German automotive industry-focused engineering R&D services provider. Afterwards, the company stated that the strategic investment would enhance Infosys' engineering R&D capabilities.

The technology hub established by Infosys for Polestar will focus on providing software development and validation services for electric vehicles (EV) in areas such as infotainment, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and telematics, as mentioned in the statement.

Maria Lexe, head of digital at Polestar, said, “Polestar is excited to partner with Infosys to establish a tech hub in India. Infosys has a successful background with similar operations, and we are confident in their ability to lead this tech hub in order to generate IT efficiencies and empower innovation.”

Sven Bauer, head of software at Polestar, said, “Polestar is starting a new chapter in the company’s global setup with our partner, Infosys in Bengaluru. We look forward to building automotive competence in the Polestar tech hub to support our growing vehicle portfolio and new model launches.”
