Honeywell and NXP Semiconductors at CES 2025 announced about the expanded partnership which will augment aviation product development and make way for autonomous flight. This will help in building on the organizations’ current relationship that is focused mainly on optimizing how creating management systems sense as well as securely control energy consumption, which was announced at CES 2024.
The groundbreaking aviation collaboration will combine the high-performance computing architecture of NXP and the deep aerospace expertise of Honeywell as well as the proven capabilities of Honeywell Anthem avionics. This in turn will enable AI-driven aerospace technology which will help in enhancing operational efficiency to plan and manage flights. This will also buttress faster transitions to new chipsets & technologies.
"Our industrial domain expertise combined with NXP's best-in-class technology is a powerful accelerator for industrial leaders on the path to autonomy," said Vimal Kapur, chairman and CEO of Honeywell. "Working together, we are developing differentiated solutions and services that shape the future of automation, driving significant customer outcomes and fueling Honeywell's growth."
The organizations will collaborate for advancing large-area displays for next-generation cockpits with thinner as well as high-resolution screens which are designed for enhancing visual clarity & system efficiency. Furthermore, they will also discover how to simplify as well as streamline migrations to newer avionic technologies and extend the lifecycles of critical aviation technologies. This will facilitate in delivering long-term value for aircraft manufacturers as well as operators.
"Bringing avionics closer to autonomous flight requires a unique combination of high-performance processing and AI, advanced connectivity and security, and functional safety," said Kurt Sievers, President and CEO, NXP Semiconductors. "NXP's broad portfolio and systems solutions approach makes us a natural partner for Honeywell on the journey towards creating innovative, intelligent and autonomous avionics that can sense, think and act."
