Unacademy-owned The community-building platform Scenes was purchased by Graphy, which enables instructors to establish online courses, for an undisclosed sum.

Graphy claims that the acquisition will enable it to improve its services and broaden its presence in the creator ecosystem.

The platform, which Unacademy debuted in 2020, currently claims to have assisted over 100,000 educators and creators in the launch of their online courses.

Scenes is a community management platform created by Varun Mayya and Shashank Udupa that helps creators to manage, monitor, and monetize their community by conducting events, selling digital goods, taking donations, and more.

The Blume Founders Fund, Better Capital, Tanglin Venture Partners, Kunal Shah (of Cred), and the cofounders of Unacademy, Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini, are among the investors in Scenes.

“The acquisition of Scenes is a strategic move aimed at strengthening our leadership in the creator economy. We believe in the power of communities and the impact it can have on learner experience. Scenes has built a robust community platform for creators and this acquisition aligns with our vision of helping creators and educators build and scale their online knowledge business’’, said Sumit Jain, CEO, Graphy, who’s also its co-founder along with Sushil Kumar and Shobhit Bakliwal.

“We've partnered with a lot of large creators and businesses over the years. The Scenes product and customers could not have found a better home than Graphy’’, said Varun Mayya, co-founder and CEO, Scenes.
