Enterprise Software- Proliferating Into Wider Verticals

By

Software development is more critical than ever for businesses today with customers looking form methods to build software that can help in their pursuit to go digital. The end requirement is much as a technical one as a pursuit of empowering individuals to perform tasks faster and easier with a delightful user experience. Additionally, as the demand for consumerization increases, the necessity to incorporate persona based design into the core of how to build enterprise software increases too. Hence competitive advantage for enterprise software developers comes from a deeper understanding of the business usage and domain knowledge of the customers of respective vendors.

In this regard the emergence of an entirely new class of business models based on analytics and big data is bound to cause ripples within the enterprise domain. The combination of machine learning, IoT adoption and advanced intelligence to act on data will lead to an entirely new class of business models, as pointed out by Gartner. Manufacturing-as-a-Service and paying only for the production time used in a factory are within reach for more companies than before based on these predictions.

It is also predicted that in the next three years traditional computing and communication devices, including desktop and mobile devices will be complemented by wearable devices, home electronics including appliances with sensors, transportation-based sensors and data collection devices, and environmental devices all capable of capturing data in real-time. So the world will witness an influx of new technologies and growth of IT thanks to the need to develop actionable insights from these sources. Additionally, the proliferation of the digital mesh will lead to more ambient, contextually intelligent and intuitive app design over time.

At the end of the day, software that can maximize human experience, insight and creativity by harnessing all data to automate routine tasks will be the ultimate task of enterprise solutions. The biggest treasure would be to make software have no user interfaces as this can lead to the software being able to capture data in a real time proactive aspect, so as to allow relevant insights and suggestions as well as the power to select approve and reject in certain contexts.
