Established in 1991, with focus primarily on telecom products, Matrix later branched out by adding security domains (Video Surveillance & Access Control and Time Attendance). Matrix currently bestows clients with products like Video Surveillance solutions, Access Control, Time-Attendance, IP-PBX, Universal Gateways, Terminals, Convergence solution, VoIP Gateways and GSM Gateways. “The broadening of services helped us maintain customer, channel, manufacturing and technology adjacencies.” states Ganesh Jivani, MD, Matrix Comsec.
Diversifying in Security Domain
DZ cards, a Thailand based printing house specializing in all kinds of plastic cards was seeking an Access Control solution for around 300 users that could be hosted on their central server. Matrix proposed a range of COSEC products. Matrix installed 32 Door Controllers and 30 Exit Readers in 10+ Access Zones to overcome problems of limited Access Control functionality, defined Zone based access, integration with fire-alarm and poor after sales support. The installation introduced features such as restricted unauthorized access, prevention of proxy punching, real-time monitoring and VIP Access.
Scalable up to 65,000 devices and 1 million users, Matrix COSEC is a complete People Mobility Management solution that integrates with standard ERPs, Payroll and Video Surveillance applications. To deliver a strong access control system, Matrix COSEC is embedded with flexible policies, access control features, live monitoring consoles, notification-alerts in case of violations and audit logs/trails. Furthermore, Matrix offers two biometric technologies- Palm Vein and Fingerprint. Palm Vein, a contactless technology which reads internal vein pattern of a user’s palm, is beneficial for workers having finger identification issues and for industries where hygiene is a major concern. For fingerprint based biometrics, Matrix furnishes field proven fingerprint scanners having low false acceptance and rejection ratio compared to scanners in the market.
Going International
Identification and analytics algorithm with users connected to the Cloud server through their mobiles is an emerging trend. Aiming at investing in new-generati on analytics, Matrix has already developed a few mobile based applications such as QR code and Bluetooth based access control. Moreover, with global footprints in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa through an extensive network of more than 500 channel partners, Matrix aims to spread its wings across geographies in the near future.
