Dell Technologies hires new president for Asia Pacific & Japan

With immediate effect, Peter Marrs (pictured) has been named president of Dell Technologies' Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. 
 
The technology giant stated in a statement that Marrs succeeds Amit Midha, who is leaving Dell Technologies to pursue a job outside the organisation.
 
Based on the statement, Marrs will oversee the region's expansion and advancement across the broad range of technologies offered by the business in his new role.
 
In accordance with company's statement, he will be in charge of advancing corporate strategy and sales in the APJ area, which comprises Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. 
 
Marrs will report to John Byrne, president of Sales, Global Theatres, and Dell Technologies Select, from his home base in Singapore.. 
 
According to John Byrne, the company is thrilled to have Peter manage its operations in this crucial area.
 
“Marrs has more than a decade of experience across APJ, and a deep understanding and appreciation for Dell’s customers and partners in the region,” he added.
 
“With his strong track record of delivering results, I am confident that Marrs will help shape the future of Dell in APJ,” Byrne said. 
 
“The opportunities in APJ are immense, and I’m thrilled to lead Dell business in the region,” Marrs said. 
 
“We have a talented team, strong portfolio of solutions and a culture that fosters innovation. We are well placed to help our customers and partners in APJ succeed on their digital transformation journey and drive our growth in the region,” he added.
 
Marrs has worked with Dell for 23 years and has more than 30 years of expertise in the IT sector. He has held top management positions in both the enterprise and client companies at both the global and regional levels.
 
He worked in executive positions in APJ for more than ten years after joining Dell Technologies in 2000 to build enterprise products. He most recently held the position of senior vice president for the international business of Data Center Solutions.
 
Prior to this, he held the positions of executive director of solutions sales for ASEAN, president & general manager of Dell Korea, senior vice president of APJ Enterprise Solutions, senior vice president of APJ Client Solutions Group, and vice president of APJ Solutions Sales. 
 
Marrs has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Lemoyne College and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University.
