Israeli firm Cloudify, which specialises in cloud orchestration and infrastructure automation, has been bought by Dell Technologies.

The startup was reportedly purchased by Dell for close to $100 million in order to strengthen its cloud services division, particularly its DevOps offerings.

As per the corporate representative, Dell Technologies "has closed the acquisition of Cloudify," according to TechCrunch.

"This transaction allows Dell to continue to innovate our edge offerings," said the spokesperson.

In a US SEC filing, Dell refered to issuing of Class C common stock "in respect of certain outstanding and unvested options to acquire the ordinary shares of Cloudify Platform Ltd., an Israeli private liability company."

An innovative solution called Cloudify, an open source multi-cloud orchestration platform, combines existing automation tools, infrastructure, and networking into verified blueprints.

The startup was first separated from GigaSpaces in 2017. According to PitchBook records, the business raised less than $8 million.

By combining infrastructure, networking, and automation technologies into approved blueprints, Cloudify's environment-as-a-service, according to its users, may help close the gap between DevOps and IT service management and manage heterogeneous cloud environments at scale (ITSM).

The technology ecosystem of Cloudify comprises companies like F5, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and ServiceNow.
