The nation's capital now has the nation's first quantum computing-based telecom network link in operation, according to IT and telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Speaking at the first global quantum enclave, Vaishnaw claimed that the quantum communication link between Sanchar Bhawan and the National Informatics Center office in the nation's capital's CGO Complex is now operational.

"The first quantum secure communication link between Sanchar Bhawan and NIC, CGO complex is now operational," Vaishnaw said and announced a Rs 10 lakh prize money for ethical hackers who can break the encryption of the system.

"We are also launching a hackathon, a challenge round, for anybody who breaks this system and system developed by C-DoT, we will be giving Rs 10 lakh per break," Vaishnaw said.

The minister opened a small exhibition of quantum computing companies and invited them to carry out trial projects for Indian Railways and communications networks.

Vaishnaw on Monday hinted at a "big announcement" in a few weeks regarding conversational AI tools. To a specific question on whether India can build something equivalent to the conversational AI tool ChatGPT, the minister said "wait for a few weeks, there will be a big announcement".

When asked about what the big announcement might will be, the minister declined to give further details and said, "Parliament is in session, so I cannot say anything..."

Speaking at the India Global Forum event was Vaishnaw.

It is important to note that ChatGPT has sparked an AI (Artificial Intelligence) chatbot race and amazed the globe with its conversational abilities.

Over the past few weeks, the new AI chatbot tool, developed by the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, has skyrocketed in popularity and made headlines.

It can be asked to give clear responses to inquiries, react to user requests, and generate plays, speeches, song lyrics, assignments, articles, marketing copy, class essays, and even rough draughts of research paper abstracts using information found online.
