Samsung to venture in smart manufacturing capability at its Noida mobile plant

In order to increase production's competitiveness, the second-largest mobile phone plant in Noida of the Korean electronics giant Samsung has announced plans to invest in the setup of smart manufacturing capabilities.
 
T M Roh, president and head of mobile experience business at Samsung Electronics, responded to a PTI inquiry regarding the company's investment strategy in India by stating that the company would continue to fund facilities for research and development there.
 
"We will continue our investment to bring the optimised and or smart factory to the Noida facilities. We will continue our investment there. I believe this our investment for the smart factory will bring competitiveness in the production," Roh said.
 
Almost 10,000 individuals work at Samsung's R&D facilities throughout India, with close to 3,500 of them based at the Bangalore facility.
 
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, is home to the company's second-largest production facility in the world. Samsung began producing its high-end Galaxy S23 series in India this year.
 
"We have biggest research and development centre here. For the new innovation we will continue our investment in this area," Roh said.
 
A worldwide electronics company with its headquarters in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, South Korea is called Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. In 2012, it generated 70% of the group's revenue, making it the apex of the Samsung chaebol.
