Amazon Web Services (AWS) has opened its first Asia Pacific Innovation Hub in Singapore, an 8,000-square-foot, multi-million-dollar facility located at its corporate office in downtown Singapore. The hub aims to accelerate digital transformation for businesses across the region by offering immersive experiences with AWS and Amazon technologies, alongside over 30 partner solutions across 50 real-world cloud use cases.

Aimed at serving more than 1,000 C-suite executives and 200 undergraduates across Singapore-based tertiary learning institutions every year, the facility will encourage innovation in cloud and generative AI.

In partnership with Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), AWS also launched the AI Springboard programme, designed to empower 300 Singapore-based enterprises with up to SGD $600,000 each in cloud credits and training support. This consists of SGD$350,000 base credit and up to SGD$105,000 of government co-funded consultancy support.

“Singapore is taking decisive steps to strengthen our position as a leading digital economy and AI hub in Asia,” said Philbert Gomez, Senior Vice President and Head of DISG. The initiative aligns with Singapore’s Enterprise Compute Initiative to enhance AI adoption and competitiveness.
