ANDOVER, MA: WSI, a provider of weather-driven business solutions for professionals in the aviation, energy, insurance and media markets has announced enhancements to its Fusion flight operations platform. The new platform enables aircraft operators to stay away from air-traffic restrictions while minimizing passenger frustrations.

The Airport Congestion Index, a part of Fusion Predictive Analytics Package is a data driven predictive algorithm that allows Operations personnel to have an insight on the flight planning process for airports affected by enrouting delays and other traffic-flow management initiatives. With this, airlines can determine the costly increase in fuel consumption, crew time or deicing fluid required in creating opportunities to control costs and optimize efficiency.

Besides this, Predictive Analytics Package, the latest version of Fusion includes additional features on high-value user feedback, including:

Pilot Report entry:  It has the ability to submit, share, and collaborate with other WSI Fusion and Pilotbrief users to promote operational safety and awareness of significant turbulence.

Daily Temperature Forecast Chart:  This has been added for a quick, streamlined view of critical temperatures enabling aircraft performance planning and early insight into potential restrictions that may limit the capacity of the aircraft at departure.

Flight Position Data Source Selection: This package allows global operators to control which flight position data feeds are visible at any given time in order to give preferential precedence.
