In Series D At Rs 6,552 Cr Valuation, BharatPe Raises Rs 786 Cr

BharatPe, the fintech services company, on Thursday announced it has acquired $108 million (which is more than Rs 786 crore) in Series D equity round, which places the company at $900 million (~ Rs 6,552 crore) valuation.

BharatPe has raised $90 million (over 655 crore) in primary fund raise, and also made sure secondary exit for its angel investors and employees for a whopping total of $18 million (almost Rs 131 crore).

The Co-Founder and CEO of BharatPe, Ashneer Grover, said, "We are super-excited to ensure Rs 125 crore ROI for angels' capitals and all ESOP holders, as one of the higest returns on investments."

He further added, "With the balance sheet well capitalized (more than $200 million in bank), we are now going to keep our heads down and deliver $30 billion TPV and build a loan book of $700 million with small merchants by March 2023."

Existing investo Coatue Management led the funding round and all seven existing institutional investors participated in the funding round.

Summative to this round, BharatPe has raised a total of $268 million in equity and debt till now.

Grover said the company's payments business has expanded 5 times and its lending business has grown in the last 12 months.

In the previous month, the company announced that it has acquired Rs. 249 crore in debt from Alteria Capital InnoVen Capital, Trifecta Capital and ICICI Bank.

BharatPe is presently facilitating to more than Rs 200 crore of loans to its merchants partners every month from its NBFC partners.

In the previous year in November, BharatPe toppled GooglePay for acquiring the 3rd rank in the UPI P2M category.

In the beginning of this month, BharatPe appointed Gautam Kaushik as the second Group President of the company.
