Kinaxis® (TSX:KXS), provider of RapidResponse®, delivering cloud-based SCM and S&OP applications, today announced that Samsung Electronics has selected Kinaxis RapidResponse as their supply chain planning solution.

Headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, Samsung Electronics employs more than 319, 000 people in 84 countries. Due to the company’s global operations and broad product portfolio, Samsung is constantly looking for ways to create efficiencies within its supply chain. RapidResponse will be deployed to drive supply chain management and sales and operations planning effectiveness through tight integration and alignment of all planning functions, which will help streamline efficiencies.

“We know that having the right technology to plan concurrently, run multiple simulations and drive collaborative planning, will allow Samsung’s business segments to improve delivery, reduce customer lead times, and respond even more quickly to the rapidly changing market,” said Wan goo Gee, global head of Operation, Samsung. “By utilizing RapidResponse we can get closer to our goal of a more efficient, next-generation supply chain.”

“Kinaxis is thrilled to have earned the trust and confidence of Samsung, one of the world's largest consumer electronics companies,” said John Sicard, chief executive officer at Kinaxis. “This partnership will leverage our 2016 growth investments which included building on our existing success in the Asia Pacific market through the establishment of an Asian-based data center to support our expansion in the region. We look forward to collaborating closely with Samsung’s talented organization and being a key part of managing their end-to-end supply chain.”

RapidResponse is a software as a service (SaaS) product that simultaneously provides the unifying global visibility, simulation and concurrent planning capabilities essential to ensuring consistent alignment of all supply chain processes and functions that operate under unpredictable conditions. RapidResponse is the modern foundation on which many supply chain applications — S&OP, Master Planning & Scheduling, Capacity and Constraint Management, Inventory and Supply Management, Demand Management, Order Promise Management, and Integrated Project Management — can be deployed rapidly using one shared data model, one user interface, and one common analytics platform.
