  • Nvidia will bring RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs to 2U enterprise servers later this year.
  • Move aims to make AI and accelerated workloads practical for mid-sized traditional enterprises.
  • AMD currently lacks a competitor to Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs.

Nvidia has announced that its RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs will be available in standard enterprise servers later this year, making its Blackwell architecture accessible to a broader range of organizations for AI and traditional workloads.

The announcement came during Nvidia’s annual SIGGRAPH conference in Vancouver, Canada, where executives confirmed that major partners, including Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro, will integrate the GPU into their most popular 2U enterprise server systems.

These 2U Nvidia RTX Pro Servers are x86-based, air-cooled, PCIe-based hardware designed for standard enterprise data center racks. “Enterprise data centers were built for low-power, predictable workloads, relying on air-cooled servers in power-constrained racks. AI has shattered this model. It demands a new level of computational intensity,” said Rev Lebaredian, Nvidia’s Vice President of Omniverse and simulation technologies. “Nvidia RTX Pro Server makes the transition from general-purpose clusters to an AI factory seamless without a complete data center overhaul.”

The RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs were initially unveiled at Computex in Taiwan in May and were first available in 4U server use. The recent growth includes placing them into the 2U form factor offering more flexibility to their adoption within enterprises.

RTX 6000 Pro Server Edition GPU support with 2U rack mounts provides enterprise and datacenter customers with the most compact methods of deploying AI GPUs, perfect for onsite edge computing deployments. 2U mainstream RTX Pro servers will allegedly be available starting later this year.
