Siemens Xcelerator Powers Skyroot Aerospace’s Digital Transformation

Siemens Digital Industries Software announced that Skyroot Aerospace, a top Indian private space launch company, has adopted Polarion software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to improve its software development processes. This decision aims to increase efficiency and speed up access to space for global customers.

Founded in 2018 by former ISRO scientists Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka, Skyroot, based in Hyderabad, made history in 2022 with Vikram-S, India’s first privately developed rocket to reach space. The company is now preparing for commercial orbital launches with Vikram-1, using technologies like carbon composites and 3D-printed engines to create affordable, on-demand launch vehicles.

By integrating Polarion, Skyroot brings together its software and systems development. This improves traceability and compliance, boosts team collaboration, and simplifies lifecycle management. Naga Bharath Daka, co-founder and COO, highlighted that Polarion improves software workflows, allowing the team to concentrate on innovation with support from Siemens’ aerospace expertise.

Mathew Thomas, Vice President and Managing Director for India at Siemens, commended Skyroot’s leading role in India’s private space sector. He pointed out that using Polarion shows its commitment to digital transformation. This partnership contributes to the growth of the Indian space industry, which aims to make spaceflight affordable and versatile.
