Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NOW Telecom, the telecommunications arm of NOW Corporation, to enhance the Philippines’ digital sovereignty, promote financial inclusivity, and establish a secure, reliable network.

This strategic alliance makes TCS the technology partner of choice of NOW Telecom in the building of a strong digital infrastructure to realize economic growth and empower the Filipino citizens.

As members of the Trusted Network Alliance under the Trusted Network Initiative (TNI), TCS and NOW Telecom are committed to advancing secure and trustworthy telecommunications networks globally. Through this collaboration, TCS will leverage its expertise, including its successful partnerships with the Indian government, to strengthen cyber-digital cooperation across the Indo-Pacific, aligning with TNI’s framework.

TCS will implement its Sovereign Secure CloudTM to facilitate maintenance of control of local data, aid the development of AI infrastructure, and improve operational survivability in the face of this capability-building locally. TCS will be taking their security protocols to another level of security through their Cyber Defense Suite, capable of providing cyber intelligence, resilience, vendor risk management, and identity security to protect critical infrastructure.

This will protect national data from external threats and ensure operational interoperability for cross-agency collaboration during complex scenarios. The partnership also aims to reduce foreign dependency, enabling sovereign control over critical systems during crises.

Mel Velarde, Chairman of the NOW Group, stated, “This partnership with TCS marks a significant step towards enhancing our national digital sovereignty and reducing reliance on foreign technologies. NOW’s and TCS’ expertise will contribute to defending against risks while creating a scalable, secure data infrastructure.”

Additionally, the collaboration will deliver citizen-centric services, including digital private infrastructure, healthcare, and digital banking, to promote financial inclusivity.
