Tech Mahindra, an IT services and consulting company, announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft to advance 5G Core network modernization for telecom operators throughout the world.

According to a joint statement from the firms, the transition of the 5G Core network would assist telcos in creating fifth-generation use cases for edge computing, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

As part of the partnership, Tech Mahindra will offer telecom operators its people, solutions, and managed services, including "Network Cloudification as a Service" and AIOps.

AIOps will assist telcos in fusing big data and machine learning to automate network operations procedures, such as event correlation and anomaly detection, and predict performance and fault concerns, which will ultimately enable self-serving network operations.

“Our collaboration with Microsoft will further strengthen our service portfolio by combining our deep expertise across the telecom industry with Microsoft Cloud. Further to this collaboration, Tech Mahindra and Microsoft will work together to help telecom operators simplify and transform their operations in order to build green and secure networks by leveraging the power of cloud technologies,” said CP Gurnani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tech Mahindra.

“Through our collaboration with Tech Mahindra, Microsoft will further help telecos overcome challenges, drive innovation and build green and secured networks that provide seamless experiences by leveraging the power of Microsoft Cloud for Operators,” added Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India.

To track KPIs for all three ESG components, Tech Mahindra will also use the Microsoft cloud for its sustainability solution, iSustain (Environmental, Social, and Governance)

SenTindra, a cloud-based virtual security operations centre built on Microsoft Sentinel, will also be used by Tech Mahindra to further improve the security posture of the operator's network and operations.
