Vodafone Idea(Vi) announced that it has deployed the 900MHz and 2100MHz spectrum bands in Maharashtra & Goa over the last year to provide a better voice calling quality to its customers.

As a result of the deployments, VoLTE calling facility is available to Vi customers across all towns and villages in Maharashtra & Goa, Vi said in a statement.

“We have undertaken multiple initiatives over the past year to widen our 4G network spread in the circle as well as strengthen coverage across urban and rural locations. We have now doubled our VoLTE capacity in the two states, enabling more Vi customers to enjoy seamless, long conversations with their loved ones,” said Rohit Tandon, Cluster Business Head, Maharashtra & Goa- Vodafone Idea.

At the national level, Vi has been consistent with its high-quality voice calls and has been delivering the highest rated voice quality in the country as per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s “MyCall” app data for 17 out of 19 months from November 2020 to May 2022.

Vi is also conducting 5G trials in Pune, and had announced that it has demonstrated peak download speed of 5.92 Gbps.

The telco last week announced that it has deployed the efficient 900 MHz spectrum on 3,043 sites as well as 1800 MHz band on 11,772 sites in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, respectively, to boost indoor 4G connectivity for its users.
