Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) has introduced TCS AI WisdomNext, an artificial intelligence platform under its newly formed AI.Cloud subsidiary, to assist its clients in fast adopting new-age technologies such as generative AI (GenAI) at an affordable cost.

This platform is part of an effort by IT organizations to become more GenAI-friendly. The Mumbai-based software exporter was the first Indian IT company to combine its AI and cloud businesses into one entity, AI.Cloud.

As part of this unification, the company would provide AI and cloud solutions under a single banner, rather than having separate teams dedicated to each of its clients. The WisdomNext platform would combine numerous GenAI solutions under one canopy and provide clients with customizable industry blueprints based on the company's experience in diverse industries.

“TCS AI WisdomNext gives enterprises a choice to select the right large language models at an optimal cost," said Siva Ganesan, who heads the company’s AI.Cloud unit, told reporters following the launch of the platform.

According to Ganesan, the WisdomNext platform is already in use by 100 users from banking, financial services, retail, consumer goods, travel, manufacturing, life sciences, and healthcare industries.

“I think we believe actually this entire technology has more to do with actually augmenting people rather than replacing people. So WisdomNext is all about actually augmenting the ability of AI engineers to build really high quality, effective, efficient, consistent, responsible solutions by design, rather than by chance," said Vin.
