Google and Tamil Nadu govt Partner To build AI-enabled Ecosystem

Google has entered into an agreement with the Tamil Nadu government through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership seeks to develop a strong AI-enabled environment in the region, with a special focus on supporting startups, enhancing skills, and bolstering the industrial ecosystem, especially for MSMEs, to generate effective and scalable AI innovations.
 
The memorandum of understanding was swapped at Google's Mountain View headquarters, with Chief Minister MK Stalin and Industries Minister Dr. TRB Rajaa present.
 
Amit Zavery, GM/VP and Head of Platform of Google Cloud, Nanda Ramachandran, VP, Pixel Business Unit, Google, and officials from Guidance Tamil Nadu, the state's agency for investment promotion and facilitation, signed the agreement.
 
In this partnership, Google will collaborate closely with Guidance Tamil Nadu to help build an AI ecosystem by offering advanced technologies and resources. This program aims to give individuals, businesses, and government entities the tools to utilize AI for inclusive growth and advancement.
 
Dr TRB Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, expressed optimism about the partnership, stated, "We are happy to collaborate with Google on advanced manufacturing, including the recently announced Made in India Pixel 8 phone being manufactured in Tamil Nadu. The MoU signed today will explore key Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives under the Tamil Nadu AI Labs."
