Meta Widens Verified Program To India

The programme intends to expand Meta's revenue sources outside conventional digital advertising, which took a hit in 2022 as a result of the global economic slowdown and Apple's modifications to the iOS privacy policy.
The programme was originally going to be available for higher monthly fees, but Meta lowered the costs to Rs 699 for Android and iOS, and Rs 599 online. After Twitter launched its subscription service named "Blue," Meta opened up its queue for Verified, which coincides with the expansion into India.
Users of Meta Verified can enjoy a number of benefits, such as a verified badge, proactive account protection, and account assistance. Users must present a government-issued ID as part of the verification process, which is relevant to both Facebook and Instagram accounts. The only language in which account support is presently offered is English, although Meta aims to include Hindi in the future. Users who are interested can sign up for the service's waitlist on the web.
Unlike Twitter, Meta will keep up with its historical badges for accounts that satisfy certain requirements. According to Meta, the expansion to India is based on promising outcomes from preliminary testing in other nations.
Accounts must meet minimum activity requirements and users must be 18 or older in order to qualify for Meta Verified. They must also provide a government ID that exactly matches the name on their profile. The subscription will feature proactive account impersonation detection, and some users might be asked to authenticate with a selfie video.
