The global leader in cybersecurity, Palo Alto Networks, announced the opening of its new Indonesian cloud facility. Customers in Indonesia now have access to all of Palo Alto Networks' security features at the new cloud location, which also helps meet local data residency requirements.

Organizations are modernizing their applications and taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the cloud, resulting in an expansion of the cloud infrastructure landscape in Indonesia. In addition, businesses, particularly those in the financial sector, must ensure that their data storage complies with Indonesian laws.

As Indonesian firms grow and seize the potential of cloud computing, the activity of recognizing and preventing threats will definitely turn out to be progressively difficult, demanding additional time and resources. Palo Alto Networks' State of Cloud-Native Security 2024 Report reveals that 98% of businesses store sensitive data in multiple locations, including on-premises servers, the public cloud, local storage in SaaS applications, private clouds hosted by third parties, and endpoints.

"When organizations in Indonesia modernize and move to the cloud, they will face new challenges such as protecting against complex threats and the need to remain compliant with local data protection regulations," said Adi Rusli, Country Manager, Indonesia, Palo Alto Networks. "Our investment in the new cloud location demonstrates our commitment to securing Indonesia's digital future. It gives organizations in Indonesia and the region access to our AI-powered cybersecurity platforms while helping them meet their data residency needs."
