Route Mobile and telecom giant Vodafone Idea have entered an exclusive agreement to supply A2P SMS monetisation solutions. The A2P SMS monetisation solutions will be delivered through an analytical firewall solution powered by Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), an SMS Hub on the VIL network, and aggregating global A2P SMS traffic on the VIL network.

“I am delighted about this partnership. VIL is an important operator in the country and our firewall solution will further help them protect their customers against Spam and Phishing. We are honored and extremely pleased to build on our relationship with the erstwhile Idea Cellular team, and re-engage with the expanded Vodafone Idea family to offer our comprehensive solution suite for their network. This partnership also signifies Route Mobile’s global connectivity and the full spectrum of CPaaS capabilities. I am proud of our team who made this happen," Rajdipkumar Gupta, Managing Director & Group CEO, of Route Mobile, said.

The goal of A2P SMS (Application-to-Person Short Message Service) monetisation is to make money by having software or applications send people automated text messages.

As per Route Mobile, the former Idea Cellular network used its firewall solutions up to April 2022, and they will now be deployed exclusively over the whole Vodafone Idea network. According to the business, various Mobile Network Operators ("MNOs") around the world have implemented its firewall solutions, and VIL stands to gain from the revenue maximization provided by these solutions.
