Athora Netherlands, a Dutch life insurance and pension provider, has awarded Tata Consultancy Services a multi-year contract to create a new business and IT operating model. Finances for the deal were not made public. TCS will establish a nearshore delivery center in Alkmaar, adjacent to Athora's business hub in the Netherlands, as part of the extended cooperation, and numerous Athora Netherlands workers from its life service sector will be hired by Athora Netherlands. The number of employees who would receive new badges was not made public by the corporation.

The Ambition 2025 initiative of Athora Netherlands, which aims to become a leading, specialized pensions and life insurance firm, will benefit from this relationship with TCS. As part of this multi-year cooperation, TCS will oversee all business and IT operations for Athora's closed book of life insurance policies under the Reaal brand, including policy servicing, claims management, and customer care.

TCS will assist in establishing a hybrid cloud architecture based on the TCS Enterprise Cloud and driven by the TCS Alpha Platform. To ensure a seamless continuation of the services provided to Athora's clients, the inducted personnel will continue to run the Life Service Business on a day-to-day basis.

“This strategic partnership is an important step for our Life Service Business. TCS’ extensive insurance operations and IT expertise will help us to secure business continuity as the portfolio gradually runs off,” said Bart Remie, chief technology & operations officer, Athora Netherlands.

“Our deep domain, application and insurance operations expertise combined with the next-gen hybrid cloud architecture powered by TCS Enterprise Cloud will enable them to deliver unmatched customer experience and build resilience,” said Hemakiran Gupta, head of banking, insurance and financial services, Europe, TCS.
