"The Tencent Hunyuan large model, completely developed by ourselves from scratch, has now entered the application testing phase within the company," the company said.
This comes after Chinese regulators released a set of temporary guidelines on generative AI last month, opening the door for Chinese internet giants like Tencent and Alibaba to launch AI-enhanced goods as early as late August, pending approval. Tencent has recently turned its attention to AI. As additional business segments that have recently tested the Hunyuan model, Tencent highlighted Tencent Games, Tencent Advertising, QQ Browser, WeChat Search, and Tencent Fintech.
"Initial effects have been achieved and more businesses and applications are in the process of being connected (to the model)," the Shenzhen-based company said.
Chinese global technology and entertainment giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. is a holding corporation with its main office in Shenzhen. Based on revenue, it is among the top multimedia corporations in the world.
