Bangalore: A leader in health care, Baxter International Inc., recently opened its Integrated Delivery Centre (IDC), a global IT shared services centre, in Bangalore. The new centre is set-up with a mission to deliver Baxter’s global enterprise IT needs.
Baxter International Inc., (NYSE: BAX) was founded in 1931 and has been changing the lives of millions of people by providing safe, effective and affordable products and therapies since then. With the current market cap of $40.02 billion, it has spread its manufacturing facilities across 27 countries. Baxter has been operating in India for over 17 years and its nation-wide footprint includes commercial facilities and five manufacturing facilities.
The 2500 square feet spaced IDC is set up at Prestige Shantiniketan in Whitefield Bangalore. The unit encompasses 150 staff who will develop and deploy enterprise wide IT solutions that support critical operations from HR to manufacturing, finance, quality compliance, legal and other functions within the organization.

The new advancement aims to improve operational efficiencies, implement cost saving processes and models and provide real time information to support business decision and compliance. In addition it also hopes to consolidate and expand its in-house IT staff. “The establishment of the IDC and Global Research Center underscore Baxter’s commitment to the India market and our commitment to investing in and creating innovative solutions,” says Anish Bafna, GM India. “India is one of the fastest growing emerging markets for Baxter and these operations leverage our established presence and build on the talent and expertise that resides within the country”.
