India has test terminated another form of its long-range Agni-V nuclear missile, which makes it complex to be brought somewhere near air defence frameworks, and enables a solitary rocket to hit numerous objectives somewhere down in enemy territory.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the declaration via web-based entertainment stage X on Monday, saying that he is glad for the researchers from the Defence Research and Development Organisation  for the accomplishment.

"Proud of our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology," the PM posted.

His words were reverberated by defence minister Rajnath Singh on X, "Congratulations to our DRDO scientists and the entire team for this exceptional success. India is proud of them!"

With the test, India joins a select class of countries with the MIRV technology. As of now, US, Russia, UK, France and China have functional MIRV rockets in their munititions stockpile. The DRDO has been chipping away at the MIRV technology for more than 10 years yet formal endorsements by the public authority to proceed the program have been gotten as of late. With the MIRV technology, a solitary long range rocket can convey various warheads that can freely be utilized to strike targets. On Monday, it was tried on the Agni-V which has a scope of north of 5,000 km.

"This system is equipped with indigenous avionics systems and high accuracy sensor packages, which ensured that the re-entry vehicles reached the target points within the desired accuracy. The capability is an enunciator of India's growing technological prowess," government sources said, adding that the project director is a woman scientist.
