Platform9 Launches Managed OpenStack Private Cloud Solution

Platform9, a private cloud solutions provider, announces the general availability of Platform9 Managed OpenStack – a SaaS solution that implements an OpenStack based private cloud, with intelligent, self-service provisioning of workloads onto their computing infrastructure. The Platform9 Managed OpenStack include differentiators such as ease-of-use, leverages existing environments, single pane of glass, production ready for the enterprise, service SLA + built-in monitoring, seamless updates. Single pane of glass: With SaaS model, Platform9 Managed OpenStack works smoothly across multiple geographic and provides customers to save costs by integrating their distributed infrastructure into a single private cloud. Since it supports multiple virtualization/container technologies, customers can use them for specific applications or projects. Service SLA + built-in monitoring are observed by the Platform9’s internal telemetry for availability and operational health. Enterprise IT is responsible for private cloud SLA. This launch follows six months of beta testing on thousands of virtual machine installations across enterprisers and service providers in diverse industries and geographies. In addition to supporting Kernel-Based Virtual Machine (KVM) environments, now the Platform9 Managed OpenStack is available in beta for VMware vSphere with 20 customers participating to evaluate the compatibility with their VMware. Support for Docker – an open platform for developers and system administrators to build, ship and run distributed applications – is in development and the beta will be announced later this year.
