Reliance Industries Limited and Google Cloud have announced a major collaboration to accelerate India’s digital and AI transformation. The two companies, which previously partnered to make internet access affordable for millions, are now expanding their alliance to deliver secure, sustainable, and cutting-edge AI infrastructure.
In this project, Google Cloud and Reliance will collaboratively drive one of the fastest-growing retail ecosystems in the world and support the modernization of all the businesses of Reliance Industries Limited using the latest AI. Reliance will design, build, and operate a state of the art cloud facility at Jamnagar. This dedicated cloud will conform to the standards of Google Cloud everywhere, but it will be secure and compliant, and it will be able to handle the most challenging AI load.
The new AI-driven cloud region will enable Reliance to deliver high-performance, AI-first services across enterprises, small and medium businesses, startups, developers, and the public sector. These services will be backed by the scale of Jio’s advanced digital network and Reliance’s clean energy leadership.

Jio will strengthen the project with high-capacity intra- and inter-metro fiber connectivity linking Jamnagar with key metros such as Mumbai and Delhi.
Highlighting the strategic importance, Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, said: “This partnership with Google Cloud marks a new chapter in India’s technology journey. By bringing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, renewable energy, and nationwide network, we are laying the foundation for India to become a global leader in AI.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, added: “At Google, we’ve long been investing in India’s digital future, and our partnership with Reliance and Jio has been an important part of how we do that. Now, we are building on this to help shape the next leap with AI.”
