Broadcom has announced the launch of VMware Tanzu Data Intelligence, a modern data lakehouse platform that brings together multimodal data with high performance and low latency. The solution is designed to help enterprises build faster, secure, and scalable analytics, applications, and agentic AI. Alongside this release, Broadcom also introduced VMware Tanzu Platform 10.3, which aims to simplify how organizations develop and integrate generative AI into applications.
Many enterprises are exploring AI opportunities but face significant challenges. According to Gartner, “through 2026, 30% of generative AI (GenAI) projects will be abandoned after proof of concept due to poor data quality, inadequate risk controls, escalating costs or unclear business value.” Adding to this, up to 90% of enterprise data remains unstructured and inaccessible for analytics. Tanzu Data Intelligence addresses this issue by integrating ingestion, processing, querying, and AI/ML enablement in a single governed environment.
The platform offers integrated access to structured, unstructured, native and federated data resources that scale between terabytes and petabytes at milliseconds. It also enables complete lineage, governance and vector search using SQL and semantic similarity queries. These can be ingestion workflows, federated queries, container compute, real-time data services, and agentic AI workflows.
The Tanzu Platform 10.3 release builds on Cloud Foundry capabilities, offering observability dashboards, fleet management, AI middleware, and modern developer tools. Key additions include service publishing in the Tanzu Marketplace, granular AI model service plans, modernization automation, a vulnerability insights dashboard, and integrated data observability.

Broadcom also unveiled an AI Starter Kit, which offers tools, code, and guides to help teams rapidly deploy AI applications. This kit enables organizations to test AI capabilities even on earlier platform versions.
Purnima Padmanabhan, Vice President and General Manager of the Tanzu Division at Broadcom, stated: “Business leaders who want to be part of the next wave of AI application innovation, such as personalized customer experiences or agentic workflows, understand that modern app and data architecture is critical to the development cycle.” She added: “Tanzu Data Intelligence combined with Tanzu Platform provides our customers with the power of modern multimodal data lake house architecture and our proven single-command CF-push technology, but with the cost predictability of a private cloud.”
