UST has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BITS Pilani with a purpose to promote sustainable academic-industry partnerships with a emphasis on innovation, research, and skill development.
The relationship will combine industry experience from UST and academic credibility from BITS Pilani, providing a platform to create a world of opportunity for development across photonics, quantum computing, AI, humanoids, VLSI, and MedTech.
"This collaboration will offer a platform for students and faculty to engage in meaningful and industry-aligned innovation. We look forward to building a strong bridge between academia and industry to drive scalable, lasting impact", stated Gilroy Mathew, UST’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Engineering.
"This partnership will not only foster innovation but also enhance practical learning, equipping students with skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving tech landscape", added Prof. Sanket Goel from BITS Pilani.

The two organizations will work together on research projects, products, and patents. UST will co-develop research programs alongside BITS Pilani and provide technical mentorships and country-wide support to help commercialize their innovations.
Specific areas of focus will include semiconductor testing, cloud computing, sustainable technologies, and achieving efficiency improvements by bridging AI with the industrial world. UST will offer structured internships and partner with the BITS Pilani placement cell to assess and recruit talent and train emerging talent.
The intention is to establish a unified initiative dedicated towards evolving India's high-tech economy in the automotive, robotics, and deep-tech sectors. The MoU represents a shared commitment towards talent development, innovation, and the future of technology in India through academics and industry meaningful engagement.
