Edtech Unicorn PhysicsWallah Names Sumit Rewri as PW OnlyIAS CEO

The CEO of PhysicsWallah's (PW) new UPSC vertical, PW OnlyIAS, Sumit Rewri, was named. PW is the only profitable edtech platform in India.

Rewri established a large community of more than 1.33 million students on the OnlyIAS Youtube channel, where he mentored and guided them to better their preparation. Rewri has eight years of experience in the UPSC preparation sector.
 
Rewri, an engineer who formerly worked at TCS until 2014, has led a team of more than 200 employees in making OnlyIAS a top choice for UPSC hopefuls.
 
"We will focus on quality content, implementing new-age teaching practices, and working extensively on students' demands. We are most confident that together we will bring innovation to UPSC preparation," said Alakh Pandey, CEO and Founder, PW.
 
Rewri said that at PW OnlyIAS, "we will provide UPSC aspirants best technology-enhanced educational content".
 
PhysicsWallah, a company founded in 2020 by prominent YouTube teacher Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, raised $100 million in June 2017 from WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures at a valuation of $1.1 billion.
 
PW, the 101st unicorn in India, helps students get ready for a variety of competitive exams, such as the GATE, UPSC, CDS, SSC, Railways, Banking, CTET, and CA.
 
With more than 22 million subscribers across 39 YouTube channels and more than 10 million app downloads on the Google Play Store, PW provides instructional content in seven languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Gujarati.
