  • Initial rollout in Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand, focusing on finance, retail, and manufacturing industry adoption.

Thinking Machines Data Science has announced a strategic regional collaboration with OpenAI, becoming the first official OpenAI Services Partner in the Asia Pacific region. The partnership is focused on accelerating enterprise AI adoption by offering ChatGPT Enterprise enablement and Agentic AI application design tailored for organisations and executives across diverse industries.

Through this alliance, Thinking Machines will provide training programs, implementation frameworks, and app development powered by OpenAI’s APIs. These efforts aim to address the gap between AI adoption, currently reported at 61% of enterprises in the Asia Pacific according to IBM and translating that adoption into measurable business value. Many organisations struggle with executive readiness and cultural challenges, and the partnership seeks to overcome these barriers.

Stephanie Sy, Founder and CEO of Thinking Machines, said, “Through our collaboration with OpenAI, we’re not just bringing in new technology, but we’re helping organisations build the skills, strategies, and support systems they need to take advantage of AI. For us, it’s about reinventing the future of work through human-AI collaboration and making AI truly work for people across the Asia Pacific Region.”

The collaboration aligns with OpenAI’s recent expansion in Asia, including the establishment of its regional headquarters in Singapore in late 2024. Singapore has been the top per capita user of ChatGPT since, which can be seen as a demonstration of the national devotion to the National AI Strategy and a responsible attitude to the use of new technologies.

Andy Brown, Head of Go-to-Market, Asia Pacific at OpenAI, emphasized the region’s readiness for AI at scale. He said, “Across Asia Pacific, we are seeing business leaders eager to unlock new productivity gains and venture into innovative use cases with AI. This initiative with Thinking Machines will give leaders the know-how and hands-on support to embed our latest GPT-5 model into their daily operations, helping them move from experimentation to impact.”

The collaboration also covers white papers, case studies and forums to exchange best practices. It will start rolling out in Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand, with target industries being financial services, retail and manufacturing, before extensive rollout across the Asia Pacific.
